LeeThe counting continues, but Lee Rhiannon is widely tipped to have reclaimed the Senate seat for the Greens NSW.
 
The official campaign was a whirlwind of just over 30 days, but the success lies in many years of hard work of Greens NSW campaigners and supporters all across New South Wales.

Rees Cabinet reeshuffle: environment downgraded

Greens MP and parliamentary process spokesperson Lee Rhiannon says today's Cabinet reshuffle demotes the environment portfolio and shows Premier Rees has little interest in the critical job of combating climate change and protecting the environment. Ms Rhiannon says the changes make clear how Nathan Rees is beholden to Labor's factional system.

CBD Metro Environmental Assessment shows high pain for little gain

Greens MP Lee Rhiannon and Leichhardt Mayor Jamie Parker say the CBD Metro Environmental Assessment Plan released today confirms the significant disruption and costs to local communities of the proposed $5.3 billion metro. The Greens are calling for the government to instead prioritise heavy rail for South West and North West Sydney and immediately extend the existing Inner West light rail network.

Secret documents: Iron Cove Bridge cost blow out

Secret government documents on the planned Iron Cove Bridge expansion reveal mismanagement of the project by the RTA that has resulted in a budget blow out, Greens MP transport spokesperson Lee Rhiannon said today. ("New Iron Cove Bridge Project $15 million over budget", SMH, page 8.)

Govt and Shooters vote to keep Game Council's finances under wraps

Greens MP Lee Rhiannon has criticised the government for not supporting a Greens motion in the Upper House that would require the public release of the NSW Game Council's 30 year strategic plan and five year business plan. Minister Ian Macdonald also refused to answer Ms Rhiannon during Question Time as to why the Game Council had consistently failed to meet is annual reporting obligations, instead taking it on notice.
